IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR THE 2012 SEASON
The TEDR committee have been listening to our members and made some significant changes to ensure that the club moves forward in a way that benefits everyone from the smallest competitor to the seasoned veteran. Please read the notes below:
- Dummy Roping will continue in the 2012 season at an earlier time slot to ensure the event is given the focus it deserves.
- We have introduced a Master's class in Pole Bending. To be eligible, you must be 35 years or older at our annual sign up day. We are hoping this class will encourage some of our Mums and Dads out there to give it a go without having to compete against the youngsters.
- We have also introduced a Novice Barrel Division in both Juniors and Seniors. This division will be for all riders who recorded a first run time of 30 seconds or more. We have quite a large number of members who record 30+ time and as a training club, we feel it is important to encourage these up and coming riders. The Novice Divisions will be run and scored exactly the same as the other divisions and riders will be competing for the same end of years awards and prizes.
- Barrel Divisions will be decided based on the fastest run at each meet, not set for the season as in 2011. We feel that this is an important change to preserve the whole concept of divisonal barrel racing.
- Another very important change for 2012 is that when riders move up in divisions, their points do not travel with them. For example, if a rider is awarded points in Division 2 and then moves up to Division 1, their Div 2 points stay in Div 2.
- Day memberships will again be offered for the 2012 season but riders can only compete at 3 meets as a day member before they will be required to pay full membership. As per last season, Day Members will not be eligible to accrue championship points.
- TEDR will be offering a discount on Junior membership for the 2012 season. Please see our Membership Page for full details and eligibility.
- Grand Entry will once again be run at each meet. Grand Entry is open to all members, so if you would like the chance to carry a flag in the arena, please let the nomination staff know prior to the meet.
- TEDR club shirts will be available for purchase this season. We are just finalising the details so watch out for more information soon.
